Dreams To Sea Cottages - PEI

While we were in PEI, we rented a cottage from Dreams to Sea Cottages in Cavendish. It was not one I had ever stayed at before, and I found it through an online search. The reviews on TripAdvisor were mainly positive, so we decided to go ahead and book an executive cottage for 2 nights. Since it was still June, peak season had not yet started on the island so we managed to get an excellent deal on it.

We checked in on a Monday around 5pm, and were greeted by the owner, Leone, her father and 3/4 of their dogs. The office doubled as their personal house, so either Leone, her parents or her sister were always around if you needed something. I had booked executive cottage #6, but upon check-in we were told we had been moved to cottage #7 instead. It honestly made no difference to me, I was just happy to be there. Leone apologized that because of recent rain, she hadn't been able to give the outside of the cottage a fresh coat of paint. Again, this made no difference to me, the inside of the cottage was the important part. I really wish I had have taken pictures of the inside as soon as we arrived, it was so nice! Everything was clean, and it was extremely spacious and open. The layout of our cottage looked exactly like the one seen here: http://www.dreamstosea.ca/cottage.shtml

On the website, it stated that the master bedroom in the executive cottage would have a queen bed, but this had been upgraded to a king size before we arrived. The spare bedroom, where my friend stayed had a queen size bed for her to sleep in and a single bed for her belongings. There were fluffy white housecoats and chocolates sitting on each bed waiting for us when we arrived, and the cottage was stocked with everything we could need - plates, glasses, cutlery, utensils, towels, bedding, etc. Our kitchen had a Keurig machine, and the office offered ~12 different kinds of K-Cups, available for a donation to the Children's Wish Foundation. We had a large BBQ on our deck as well, so we saved a bit of money by not eating out for every single meal. The office also had a large collection of spices, which we used to season our steaks with (again, just a donation to the Children's Wish Foundation).

On our first night there, Leone and her sister showed up at our cottage with a glass of wine for each of us, and a little cheese platter done up. I thought that was so awesome, way above and beyond my expectations for the place!

The beds were comfy, the tub was jetted, the view from our deck was gorgeous. It was only a few minutes drive to the main attractions in Cavendish, and a National Park Pass is included in the cost of the cottage (just don't lose it or you'll owe them $126!). I've been telling everyone I know about the great experience we had with Dreams to Sea, and L and I are trying to decide when we'll be back there again. It is definitely my number one pick of locations to stay in the Cavendish area!

xoxo,
Fallon
