Memebox TonyMoly Box

Oh Memebox, you are just too much fun. I love that you can buy as few (or as many - in my case) as you'd like, you're not limited to only one per month (which I guess is both good and bad - especially on my bank account). I ordered this one on September 11th, and it shipped on October 28th, arriving about a week and a half later.

This Memebox was the Tonymoly box - the first brand specific box I've purchased. This one caught my eye based on the adorable packaging Tonymoly products are known for, and it didn't disappoint!

Cost: $32 + $6.99 shipping (but of course I used a promo code which almost covered the cost of shipping)

First look - everything was well protected!

The information card included is so great! I wouldn't know what most of this stuff was without this card...

Panda's Dream White Magic Cream
Value: $12
"A skin brightening and perfecting cream that locks in moisture and brightens dull complexions. This super nourishing cream will bring vitality back to skin while evening out the skin tone. Skin will feel soft and smooth after each application without the greasiness. The adorable panda packaging and the light fruity scent is an added bonus!"
This is a really thick, white cream. I've only used it a few times (and always at night), but it seems to actually lighten my skin and provide lots of moisture. Plus it looks adorable on the shelf in my bathroom!

Apple Tox Smooth Massage Peeling Cream
Value: $11
"This is a multi-cream enriched with green apple extracts, AHA and papaya extracts and which works as a massaging, moisturizing and peeling cream all in one. Green apple extracts rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, Vitamin C and pectin acid are effective agents as skin exfoliators and revitalizers."
I haven't tried this yet, but it looks great sitting on the shelf in my bathroom!

Egg Pore Shiny Skin Soap
Value: $9 for 2
"A 5 in 1 Egg Soap that works to deliver moisture, nutrition, deep cleansing effect, sebum control and pore care. It's made from fertile eggs soaked in vinegar for 1-2 weeks, a process that maximizes the level of calcium, protein, vitamin, amino acid and various minerals found in eggs"
This sounds disgusting, but upon googling this I don't think it's the actual fertilized egg at all. From my google searches, this is just soap made of of egg whites. I also thought this was an all-over body soap, but it turns out it's just for your face. According to a lot of the reviews I've found, the white soap is for the morning, but you need to leave it on for 15 minutes (who has that much time to wash your face in the morning?!) and the brown one is for night-time cleansing. The first week or so of using this will cause your face to break out like crazy, as it is pulling all of the impurities out of your pores (which is the biggest reason why I won't be using these - I'm lucky to have very few breakouts). Overall, the online reviews for this product are favourable, but I think it might be a little too strong for my dry/sensitive skin.

Delight Tint Crayon Neon
Value: $8
"Sweet and vivid under the daylight, Tonymoly's Delight Tint Crayon Neon goes wild under UV lights with its electric neon colours! It melts onto lips like a lip balm with a long-lasting radiance and is easy to use with its auto-type packaging."
I really like this colour, and it does glide on super smooth.

Mini Peach Lip Balm
Value: $7
"This adorable mini-sized lip balm comes in the size of a large coin and is scented with a lovely fruity fragrance that lingers on your lips long after application. Its peach and shea butter formula is also extremely nourishing and leaves lips moist and supple."
This definitely smelled like peach, there was no doubt about that. I've realized I'm not a huge fan of lip balms that I need to stick my finger into. It did feel nice on my lips though! The packaging is clearly meant to look like a peach, but it kind of looks like something else...

Back Gel Eye Liner Long Brush in Brown
Value: $10
"A best-selling gel liner that comes with a brush of its own and boosts its super water-proof and long-lasting formula. The eyeliner glides on smoothly and precisely, then quickly dries down to a long-wearing, water-resistant finish"
I enjoy the brush of this, and I tend to only wear gel liners, so it's great to now have a brown one in my collection.

Luminous Goddess Aura Beam
Value: $16
"Tonymoly's Luminous Goddess Aura Beam is a luminous gel type cream that adds supple, healthy glow to the skin, and minimizes the look of skin imperfections. Mixed with your favourite BB cream or used alone, this miracle product will help you achieve that infamous gorgeous Korean skin glow"
I've wanted to use this, but I can't seem to get any product out of the bottle....

This box had a total of 7 products with a combined value of $73. It wasn't the best value Memebox I've ever received, but there were enough products I like to make it worthwhile.

You can actually buy a few Tonymoly products online from Urban Outfitters, including a few of the products I actually received in this box.

November Empties

This is something I started doing a few months ago, and it's keeping me honest with how many products I have on the go at a time. As something gets finished off, we toss the empties into the pink basket we have sitting in the bathroom, and then I post pictures on here once a month.

This came in my Yogurt Memebox (which I just blogged about yesterday). It made me look a little bit like a serial killer, but it left my face so moisturized and nice!

Bath & Body Works Shower Gel - Coconut Lime Breeze
I love this scent - this actually reminds me that at one point I had the body butter with this scent...I wonder where that ever disappeared to? There's nothing wrong with these shower gels, I just prefer my Lush ones more.

Toothpaste and dental floss - dental hygiene for the win!

Bath & Body Works Hand Soaps - because it's good to wash your hands after you pee.

Brigeo - Don't Despair, Repair
This came in an Ipsy a few months back (September to be exact). It seems to be great, but the sample was a little small (and my hair is so long) I can't really give an accurate review of it...

Saje essential oil - peppermint
I love the Saje brand of essential oils (and their nebulizers!). They rarely have sales, so when the entire store was 20% off on Black Friday I went a little crazy haha...

Make Up For Ever - Smoky Extravagance
Benefit - They're Real
Mascara is one of the more frequently used makeup items I use. These two (fairly large) samples aren't empty, I just figured I should toss them seeing as they have been open for way longer than 6 months. The Make Up For Ever is easily my favourite mascara I've ever used, once I work my way through some of the collection I currently have unopened, I plan on purchasing the full-size version of it. Benefit is also great at what they do, overall I'd have to say they are one of my favourite makeup brands.

Memebox Yogurt Cosmetics Box

I might have a slight addiction to Memeboxes (although I get so impatient waiting for them to arrive...). I purchased this one on September 25th as a pack with the Cutie Pie Marzia 2 box (buying together gets you a free upgrade to express shipping). They both shipped out from Korea on October 23rd, and took about a week to reach me in Canada.

Cost: Varies with box, this one was $26.50 with shipping

I love the Memebox product cards, without them I wouldn't even know what half of the stuff was! This box included six items, all full size.

Holika Holika I Want Chu Lip Balm
Value: $11
This reminds me of the KISSTIXX Lip Balm I received in the FabFitFun summer box. Each pack comes with two tubes of lip balm (in this case - one strawberry, one yogurt). The idea is that you keep one to use and give the other one to your significant other to use. When you kiss, the flavours will combine and add a little extra something to your smooch. I like strawberry smoothies, so I am sure this will eventually be used.

Purederm Skin Softening Yogurt Mask in Strawberry
Value: $12
This is a creamy-style, wash-off face mask. The bottle is huge, it's going to last for quite awhile. I've tried this out already once, and it was really nice! It clearly has real strawberries in it, and the seeds exfoliate your face as you rub it in. After rinsing it off, my skin felt really soft, I will be using this again!

Happy Bath Facial Yogurt Cleansing Foam
Value: $6
I have so many face cleansers now (and more than a few opened already) so I haven't even tried this one yet.

Pure Smile Yogurt Mask
Value: $5
These masks are crazy! They have little cut-outs for your eyes, nose and mouth, and you let them sit on your face for 15-20 minutes, then remove and pat in the excess lotion. I've already used one of these, and it left my faces so moisturized, I'm a fan (although my cats would disagree, I think I scared them when I was wearing it...)

Rappol Calming Cream
Value: $59
This is expensive moisturizer! I use some form of moisturizer every single day, so this will eventually be used up.

ettang Modelling Take-Out Cup Yogurt Pack
Value: $3
This stuff is weird. It's a powder that you mix with water than spread over your face. After letting it sit for 15-20 minutes it will peel right off and leave your face moisturized and more firm.

The total value of this Memebox was $96, which is well above the price I paid. I've now received seven Memeboxes, and every single one of them have been fantastic! I've already ordered more (I might have an addiction...) and I can't wait to see what other Korean beauty products I receive!

Julep Jewel Heist Mystery Box

I can't seem to help myself when it comes to Julep mystery boxes... This one was the Jewel Heist Mystery Box, and I know there was some reason for that name...It's been so long since I ordered this I can't remember why...

According to the packing slip included in the box, this was invoiced on September 10th, so it's been here for awhile (I've just sucked at blogging lately).

Cost: $24.99 (one time purchase)

Not all of this was part of the mystery box, I had ordered a few add-ons - a $4 mystery polish, along with two sale polishes and the two polishes that are bound together as a set.

Value: $20 ($16 for Mavens)
This pack contains three hydrating masks - one for your feet, one for your hands and one for your nails. You put them on and leave them for half an hour to help smooth, soften and nourish. These remind me a lot of the nail therapy masks I received in my Thumbs Up Memebox, which I did like. These will be used.

Value: $22 (currently on sale for $4.99 for Black Friday)
For the longest time, I thought I had received a faulty one of these. There's a little button on the bottom that you press and then the primer comes out the tip. I probably pushed the button at least 100 times before anything happened, but there hasn't been any issues with it since. I don't find this plumps my lips, but I do find it makes a difference when I wear lipstick. It only makes sense, I won't wear foundation without a primer now, why wear lipstick without a primer? From the few times I've used this so far I find that my lipstick stays longer without cracking/flaking so this does it's job. It's the first lip primer I've ever tried, so I can't compare it any other products.

Value: $18 ($14.40 for Mavens)
I haven't tried this yet, but I used to love products like this (back when I actually took care of my hands/nails and went for manis/pedis every 6-8 weeks).

Nail polish colours included in Mystery Box:
Nadia, Lynn, Alfie and Kendra
Value: $14/each ($11.20 for Mavens)

I love mystery boxes, but I think I'm done with buying them for awhile. I couldn't even find Lynn and Alfie on their website, so clearly they had discontinued the colour and just wanted to clear out the leftovers from their warehouse. It makes me wonder how old the rest of these products are... The value of the box was great at $116 though!

Lip Factory October 2014

Lip Factory always shows up around the end of the month, but the October box was delayed. There was a message provided by the company stating that there was a dispute with one of the vendors (Frost Cosmetics - it wasn't hard to figure that one out). According to the product information card, this box was supposed to include a Frost Cosmetics lipgloss, but they never shipped them to Lip Factory (although the message says that as soon as they are received, Lip Factory will mail it out to their subscribers). They did include an extra lipstick as a bonus product to make up for the late shipment (and it ended up being my favourite item from the box - so I guess win?). My November box has not showed up yet, but I'm sure that could be blamed on the lovely snow we've received this week...

Cost: $26/month USD

I'm a fan of the black tissue paper/lip sticker packaging. It's consistent every month, which is nice :)

First look - oh goodness, what is that atrocity?

Product information card - the Frost Cosmetics Lip Gloss was not included (as mentioned earlier)

Value: $10.99
Ugh. I would never pay $11 for something this ugly. I wouldn't even pick this up if I saw it at the Dollarstore. This is tacky and ugly and I didn't even need to consider keeping this - it went straight into the give-away pile (although I did consider placing it directly into the garbage...)

Value: $24
This is a gorgeous colour! When I first opened it, I was a little worried - it looked a little funny. But, I quickly realized that it was because the box had sat outside for a few hours (in Canada, in November) so it was just frozen!). I've worn this a few times already, it's a light pink that I can get away with wearing without looking like I painted on my lips (I love bright reds/pinks, don't get me wrong, but they're not always practical for everyday wear)

Value: $13
I really like this colour, but when I tried to apply it I realized how long it's been since I've worn pencil eyeliner. Oh man I sucked at it. If I wear eyeliner these days, its always a gel type applied with a brush, which seems to give me so much more control. I guess I just need to keep trying until I can get this to work haha.

Value: $8.95
Lip glosses! L will be so excited to see more of these in the house haha... I haven't opened these yet, but they have been placed in my box of unopened lip glosses which I plan on keeping and using at a later date.

Value: $25
My bonus product (due to Frost not sending their lipgloss) ended up being my favourite item in the October box. This is one of those colours I couldn't pull off on a daily basis, but it is beautiful. It's a dark, vampy, cranberry red which goes on so full of colour. This is a perfect colour for a fancy Christmas party. This also has SPF 20, which is a nice little added bonus I love to see in lipsticks/lip glosses :)

The October box contained 5 products valued at $81.94. If Lip Factory does end up sending me the Frost lipgloss this box was supposed to contain, the value will jump up to $97.93. Either way, it's well above what I paid, and the only truly awful product was the makeup bag.

I believe the November box is supposed to be all about the lips, so I can't wait to see what it contains!

Meowbox October 2014

I'm so far behind on posting this! The cats love their Meowbox, and it's very consistent with shipping times (it almost always shows up around the 17th or 18th of the month). The October box was the fifth month on a 6 month subscription, so I need to give this company more money and keep it going. I'm so far behind on posting this I've already lost/thrown out the product information card, so I have no idea who made some of the toys (sorry!)

Cost: varies depending on length of subscription
          $32.95/month
          $27.95/month on a 3 month subscription
          $22.95/month on a 6 month subscription

Pita waiting for me to use my opposable thumbs and open the box...

Please just open it already!

As always, the inside of the box is personalized with their names :)

Something in here was intriguing them...

First look - an entire bag of catnip?! No wonder they were going crazy!

Pita tripping on the nip...

Halloween catnip toy - This also had catnip in it. Hero immediately scooped this out of the box and rubbed it all over his face (hence all the cat hair covering it...) This is clearly handmade, more than likely from Etsy (although I lost/threw out the information card so I can't even give the creator credit for it...)
Value: $5? That's a complete guess...

Friskies Party Mix - This is welcome at this house! Pita loves these (and Hero will eat just about anything...). Since it has been over a month since this box arrived, this bag of treats is long gone....
Value: $1.72 at Walmart

Kookomunga Krazee Kitty Catnip - Hero and Pita love their nip (what cat doesn't?!). It was actually really hard to take a picture of this (you can see Hero's face sniffing it...)
Value: $4.39

Hero loves rubbing nip all over his face...what a weirdo...

The Paw Project DVD - I haven't watched this yet, but it's a documentary against declawing cats (which I've always thought seems like a cruel thing to do).
Value: $15

Nala Cat Stickers - These are cute! I'll probably end up sending them to my sponsor child
Value: $5

Rubie's Pet Shop Boutique - Devil Horns. There is no chance our cats will ever be ok with wearing these.
Value: $3.99

Pom-pom Balls - Again, I lost the information card and have no idea where these are from. Both cats enjoyed these though, I think they might now be lost in the abyss under the couch?
Value: $2? Again, another complete guess....

The overall value of the October Meowbox was $37.10 (but don't forget I completely guessed at the value of two of the products). This is one of the higher value boxes from them, and was the fifth month in a row Hero and Pita were spoiled kitties.
